The Ravens and Owner Steve Bisciotti are mourning the passing of Indianapolis Colts Owner Jim Irsay.
The Colts announced that Irsay, 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday afternoon.
"We are saddened to learn about the passing of Jim Irsay, who was a sweet and honorable man I had the pleasure of sitting next to at NFL meetings for the last 25 years," Bisciotti stated. "Jim leaves a legacy rooted in passion and service for the game of football, and his influence throughout the NFL will always be remembered. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Irsay family and the Indianapolis Colts organization. May Jim rest in peace."
The Colts stated that some of Irsay's "fondest memories came from his youth working training camps in Baltimore and growing relationships with players."
Irsay, the son of former Baltimore Colts Owner Robert Irsay, became the NFL's youngest general manager in 1984 when the Colts arrived in Indianapolis and took sole ownership in 1997.
In addition to the Colts' success, Jim was also well known for his philanthropy, especially when it came to mental health, and his love of music, as he performed in his own band and invested in The Jim Irsay Collection of music memorabilia.
