Former Boston Celtics big man Glen 'Big Baby' Davis was released from prison this week after serving 17 months of a 40-month sentence for health care fraud.
Davis, who also was required to pay $80,000 in restitution, was one of 18 former NBA players who were charged with unsubstantiated reimbursement claims involving dental work and chiropractic care.
Davis will now enter a New York halfway house until July 9, according to The Athletic. He will also be under supervised release for three years.
Davis averaged 8.0 points with 4.4 rebounds in 514 games (121 starts) for the Celtics (2007-11), Orlando Magic (2011-14) and Los Angeles Clippers (2014-15). He also played in the BIG3 3-on-3 league in 2018.
Davis won an NBA title with the Celtics in 2008.
