The Pittsburgh Pirates signed right-hander Jose Urquidy to a one-year contract, multiple media outlets reported on Thursday.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported the deal is worth $1.5 million for Urquidy, who returned from Tommy John surgery in June 2024 to make two relief appearances with the Detroit Tigers last season.
Urquidy, 30, is 27-16 with a 4.00 ERA in 81 games (70 starts) with the Houston Astros and Tigers. He was part of the Astros' World Series championship team in 2022.
