Pierre-Luc Dubois scored two goals and had an assist and Logan Thompson made 24 saves to lead the Washington Capitals to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Vegas Golden Knights on Friday night. It was the 25th three-point game of Dubois' career and also his 18th multi-goal game. Aliaksei Protas and Rasmus Sandin each had two assists and Jakob Chychrun also scored for Washington, which extended its home winning streak to five games.Thompson improved to 3-0-0 in three career starts against the Golden Knights. It was the sixth win the last seven games for the Capitals.Braeden Bowman and Tomas Hertl scored goals and Akira Schmid finished with 26 saves for Vegas, which had a three-game winning streak snapped.Dubois scored twice in less than three minutes early in the second period to give Washington a 2-0 lead. His first goal came 49 seconds into the period when he took a drop pass from Protas in the right circle and then snapped a shot past Schmid's blocker side and into the top far left corner. The second goal came at the 3:23 mark when he cut into the slot and tapped in a nifty backhand pass from Protas behind the net.Chychrun, playing in his 600th NHL career game, made it 3-0 near the end of the period with a one-timer from the middle of the right circle that beat Schmid short side for his 22nd goal, tops among all defensemen in the league.Bowman cut the lead to 3-1 early in the third period when he chipped in a long stretch pass from Kaeden Korczak past Thompson's blocker side.Hertl made it 3-2 midway through the period with a power play goal, redirecting a Pavel Dorofeyev pass into the slot over Thompson's right shoulder for his 600th career point.Vegas nearly tied it with four minutes to go but Thompson stopped Brayden McNabb's shorthanded breakaway try and a few seconds later smothered Mitch Marner's point-blank try.
