Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Foligno was named the winner of the 2025-26 King Clancy Memorial Trophy on Thursday.
The award is presented to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.
The NHL will donate $25,000 to the Janis Foligno Foundation. Named in honor of Foligno's late mother, its mission is to extend meaningful support to individuals and families affected by cancer.
Marcus Foligno and his brother, Chicago Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno, helped to organize a 'Foligno Faceoff' event this year that raised more than $200,000 for breast cancer research.
Each NHL team nominates one player for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy. The winner was chosen by a selection committee consisting of commissioner Gary Bettman as well as former winners of the trophy and the NHL Foundation Player Award.
Marcus Foligno, 34, recorded 13 points in 56 games in 2025-26, his ninth season with the Wild and 15th in the NHL. He has 336 career points (148 goals, 188 assists) in 931 games with the Buffalo Sabres (2011-17) and Minnesota.
